It’s going to be a mix of Japanese culture and a circus of games!

Saturday 21st Aug ’10

Time: 11:00 am to 12:00 noon

Age: 5 to 7

This Saturday, make a wish, tie it to a bamboo tree, and it just might come true!

Settle down for a Japanese Folktale. Bhargavi Aunty will regale you with the story of  ‘Grandpa’s Cherry Blossom’ and help you create an origami craft. Follow this up with the Japanese tradition of Tanabata, where you can write down your wishes and tie them onto a bamboo tree. When your wishes rustle with the leaves… something magical might happen!

This activity will be conducted by Pratham Books. They are a not for profit organisation that publishes books in multiple Indian languages. Most of their books are under Rs. 35 and these will be available for sale at Hippocampus for the duration of this activity.
