The objective of the workshop is to draw upon the natural talents of children and hone them into scripting and staging short theatrical presentations.

Design of the workshop

Day 1 of the workshop will focus on the basics of creative writing and deal with aspects of dialogue, use of pauses and silences and how to work plot points.

Day 2 of the workshop will focus on scripting and rehearsing for the theatrical presentations that will be staged for friends and families at the conclusion of the workshop.

When: 21st & 22nd July’12 (Saturday and Sunday)

Age: 9 years & above

Time:  10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Fee: Member: Rs.1950 / Non-Member: Rs.2300

Mentors:

Vijay Nair is a playwright, novelist and theatre director based in Bangalore. Vijay runs his own theatre group Still Waters in Bangalore that has staged many critically acclaimed plays like ‘The Gloomy Rabbit,’ ‘Weeds’ ‘The Window’ and ‘Bravely fought the queen.’

Dipti Nair is an independent journalist and potter. In 21 years of her career as a print journalist she has worked in various capacities in organisations like The Telegraph, Kolkata, Deccan Herald, Bangalore, Star Plus, and the INK Conference, in association with TED, among others.
