It’s time to get together and read, sing, move and laugh out loud. After all, that’s what our Book Picnics are all about!

Cumulative Tales are a common form of folktale in which the actions or characters build and repeat; they also often include rhyming and rhythm.

Join Aunty Prabha for a read-aloud of two cumulative tales from Africa. One from West Africa titled, Why Mosquitoes Buzz in People’s Ears? (oh, don’t we love those pesky creatures?) and Bringing the Rain to Kapiti Plain. And songs like, The Old Lady Swallowed a Fly, The House that Jack Built and lots more!
