Do you know what we celebrate on January 26? What does a Republic mean? Come on over to Hippocampus, as we celebrate Republic Day, talk about the Great Indian rivers and indulge in some craft!

Debjani and Kavita are the co-founders of Once Upon a Time- tells a tale. They will be presenting a story telling session on ‘India’. They will begin with a brief narration on the major physical features of India through gestures. Then the focus will be on the Himalayas, River Ganga and her formation from a mythological and geographical perspective. This also includes an art and craft activity based on the narration.

We celebrate Republic Day every year, but do you know about our kings and queens, who ruled our lands for gazillions of years? Do you know from where India gets her name?

Well, Aunty Asha is here from the World Storytelling Institute to tell us more about our country! Sing along, play a game and celebrate India with us.

Asha Sampath is a popular storyteller from the World Storytelling Institute. She will cover India in her entirety, beginning with her name, touching upon her as a land of kings and queens, showing her extent, tell childhood anecdotes from the lives of 4  eminent persons, one from each direction, culminating with a mention of the father of the nation, leading on to her freedom and bringing into focus the present….Incredible India!
